Welcome to SecurityGeek.Net. This website used to be chopped full of information security related material, but after many site rebuilds and the website being offline for a pretty long time I just decided to turn the SecurityGeek.Net into my personal site. In the future this website may have some of my previous and future works on it, but at this point in time I'm not going to spend too much time digging up things to post on the site. Information will be posted time to time, depending on time and the mood I'm in. The main purpose of the website is to attract people with similar interests and backgrounds and to share information.
I've owned SecurityGeek.Net since November of 2000. In Internet years that's quiet a while. SecurityGeek.Net for a very long time was a information security related web site. The people who helped run the site, at the time, were enthusiasts like myself and were eager to learn anything and everything about Linux/BSD system administration and how to secure Linux/BSD based systems. The perfect way for us to learn, at that time, was to maintain our own server and host content for the world to view.
Nowadays' I have worked full time in the information security/technology field for going on 10 years and I don't consider myself the enthusiast that I once was, though I still am a enthusiast. I have not talked to many of the people who helped me maintain the site in many years. All of the people were friend's that I had met on the Internet. I'm sure they have all gone on to bigger and better thing's by now.
These day's my primary hobby is scuba diving. I will go diving in colder waters, turbid waters, warm waters, and clear waters. I do not care, as long as I get to blow bubbles. I earned my open water certification in May 2004 and have logged 400+ dives, in varying environments, to date (September 2010).
Anyway's, that's me and this is my site. If you want to know more you can contact me via the contact form.
