10+ years of experience in Linux Systems Administration, Network Systems Administration, and Firewall Systems Administration.

Professional Experience

2001 - Present

Independent Consultant - As an IT consultant I have provided guidance as well as implementation services for a multitude of IT products. These services have included configuring perimeter firewalls, automating data backup processes, configuring network management products, configuring wireless and wired LAN devices, and configuring Linux servers.

A Community Bank - Current employeer where I'm responsible for maintaining two medium sized Campus LANS, a Data Center network, and several Branch networks connected via MPLS and Metro Ethernet. I also manage all of the banks Linux servers. I was a project lead for developing and implementing a server virtualization strategy that would cut the number of physical servers in the Data Center by 80 percent.

First Data - I was a member of the Problem Support staff on their Retail ATM platform; which processed transactions for 60,000+ ATM machines nationally. I was responsible for troubleshooting ATM communications problems. I specialized in troubleshooting IP communications. I also provided after hour card holder support and reported ATM cards lost or stolen for banks that First Data was a transaction acquirer for.

West Texas A&M University - I was responsible for maintaining and monitoring a large Campus LAN with 2500+ network connected devices. I was also responsible for maintaining Linux servers, a back up of the duties of maintaining the campus Windows servers (Active Directory and File Services in a Windows 2000 environment), implementing campus Internet firewalls, and upgrading internal firewalls to protect critical resources.

1Source Technologies - My primary responsibility was maintaining the servers (Linux and Windows) for a small wireless ISP. I also helped install the wireless infrastructure for wireless back hauls and client connectivity.

ARNet, Inc - I provided level 1 technical support, installed the Linux and Windows operating systems on servers so that the systems team could setup new services, and installed and troubleshot DSL services.
